Monthly Quilt Contest - July's winner

Our team has monthly challenges and each month has a theme.  For July, the theme was Beach; sun, sand, sea, picnic quilts, beach bags etc.

The winner for the July challenge is Karen from Koloa Quilts and more with her stunning landscape quilt ‘Memories of Hawaii’.

Congratulations Karen! Well deserved!

VOTER'S CHOICE FOR THE UFO COMPETITION

And we have a winner!  There were a lot of votes for different quilts, we have very diverse likes and dislikes it seems, which is why quilting is such fun, so many different styles! But the overall voting went to Astrid from Red Needle Quilts, she has lots of wonderful quilts and her mug rugs are the talk of the team! Astrid lives in paradise in Mauritius and is a Team Leader and a very active member of our community, as well as helping out with this blog, a well deserved and popular win!  A pile of fat quarters will be winging their way to you Astrid..... I hope they don't get lost  on the long journey across the world!

UFO Challenge #1 2015

It's time to vote in the first QQQ Team UFO Challenge!

For the past 6 months the team members on the Etsy QQQ Team have been trying to finish various UFO's (unfinished quilts in this case!) some of which had been in cupboards or drawers for months or years for one reason or another. I think every quilter has a few UFOs hanging around. In my case I get distracted by other designs or fabrics I can't wait to have a go at and before you know it other quilts you have been working on get put to one side, sometimes forgotten!

We had 70 entries to the competition, over half have been completed. Each entry, whether it was finished or not, paid a fat quarter entry fee. That's a lot of fat quarters!  They will be split in 2, one prize will be drawn from a hat with each finished entry going into the hat  and one of our leaders, the lovely Beverley from Adelaide in South Australia will draw a name. The 2nd winner will be the most popular vote, so do go and look at all the amazing entries, from bags to table runners to full size quilts, and pick your choice.

Everyone who entered is a winner in my book!

(If you want to see the original entries of the quilts you can see them on the QQQ UFO Entries Pinterest Board)

News Flash!

The first winner has been drawn ... a random draw from all the completed quilts.. and the Winner is #27 ... Debi Hassler from Tweety Bee Stitches! WELL DONE DEBI!  30 fat quarters will be winging their way to you from all over the world.
